Captain Ron Rusch Fishing Report

Shades Beach Smallmouth Report Saturday 4/27/02 The weather has been tough but Saturday the weather came together with light south winds and lots of sunshine. Started at Shades Beach area with a double on the 18 to 25 foot drop off. 19.75 inch bass and a big gobie. The action the next hour was slow until we got a wind shift from the east. Action picked up with lots of big smallies. As the wind picked up so did the bite. Many doubles and a good many triples of large smallies were caught. "East is least" NOT TODAY! Bait: Multi sized minnows all worked good. Water Temp: 46 There were a couple of other boats in the area and they were using tubes and jigs also doing well.
