Captain Ron Rusch Fishing Report

Shades Beach Smallmouth Report Saturday 4/27/02

The weather has been tough but Saturday the weather came together with light south winds and lots of sunshine.

Started at Shades Beach area with a double on the 18 to 25 foot drop off. 19.75 inch bass and a big gobie.

The action the next hour was slow until we got a wind shift from the east. Action picked up with lots of big smallies. As the wind picked up so did the bite. Many doubles and a good many triples of large smallies
were caught.

"East is least" NOT TODAY!

Bait: Multi sized minnows all worked good.

Water Temp: 46

There were a couple of other boats in the area and they were using tubes and jigs also doing well.

By early afternoon the wind was stiff and cold. Tried the bay but it was dead.

Great day on the water!!!!!
