Steelhead and Coho Salmon
The steelhead and salmon action is well underway. Each passing cold front brings more fish to the near shore and streams. Action on Sunday the 29th of September was fantastic. The nine fish pictured were only a small amount of the many hooked. The steelies are full of fight, reels sing and the fish jump in search of freedom trying to spit the hook. Black and red shallow running lures do the trick trolled in front of the many streams. Walnut Creek and Trout Run have been the recent hot spots. Fished 5 to 10 feet depth all day. The trench has also been hot for the steelie. |
